Anderson says playing at MSU is 'a dream come true'
With Kalin Lucas, Durrell Summers, and Chris Allen embarking on their senior seasons next fall, Michigan State needed to sign quality backcourt recruits in the class of 2011.
The Spartans got off to a strong start in '11 when they received a commitment from Detroit Southeastern standout Brandan Kearney, a 6-foot-5 prospect that played on the USA 16-and-under team last summer.
The Spartans added another talented piece to the backcourt puzzle for 2011 when 6-foot-4, 175-pound Sutton's Bay star Dwaun Anderson, gave his commitment to Tom Izzo during an unofficial visit to Michigan State Wednesday afternoon.
"We got down there about 12:00 p.m. and we took a tour of the basketball facilities and then we sat down in the meeting rooms and talked to coach (Tom) Izzo and coach (Mark) Montgomery," explained Anderson. "Coach Izzo talked about how they needed guards with Kalin Lucas, Durrell Summers, and Chris Allen being seniors and he told me that he wanted me to play for Michigan State."
