Citra (FL) North Marion 2012 wide receiver Latroy Pittman has attracted attention and offers from just about everywhere.
The Sunshine State product added one more on Friday night when Georgia head coach Mark Richt informed him of the Bulldogs intention to offer.
"I came up after the camp and just talked to him for a minute," said Pittman. "He just started telling me that he liked what he saw out here on the field today. He said that he really wants me on his team and that they are definitely going to offer."
Hearing the words straight from the head coach's mouth elicited a positive response from Pittman.
"I was really excited," he said. "I thought to myself that this is what I wanted. I just want to keep going everywhere and showing that I can be the top player in the nation."
Until the first of September rolls around, offers for the class of 2012 are limited to being verbal in nature. Because of all the teams that have indicated they will offer Pittman, the talented wide out doesn't know the exact number of schools that have revealed their intentions, but believes the number to be around 25.
"Most of them came in the spring," said Pittman. "That's when a lot of coaches came out to see me in person. They are all verbal offers though."
Overall, Pittman enjoyed his time in Athens for Dawg Night.
"I think it was a really good experience," he explained. "It seems like a bigger place and I liked the environment, but yeah, I would say being at and visiting Georgia was real good."
Including his visit to Athens, Pittman has had a chance to see a few schools already. With several experiences to draw from, the coveted wide receiver has a group of five schools sticking out to him for the time being.
"Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Alabama, and Notre Dame."
Although it is mid-July, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound athlete is hardly done for the summer.
"I am going to Florida on Friday for Friday Night Lights and we are also going to USF for a team camp and a 7-on-7 tournament," Pittman said of the rest of his summer plans. "Before Florida, I am going to go to FSU to just visit kind of."
