Johnson like Cobbs but One Key Difference
When Demarco Cobbs graduated from Tulsa (Okla.) Central in 2010 most assumed it was the last time many would hear of the program for quite some time but the class of 2013 has at least one Brave that is starting to get some early attention. And while many in the Sooner state hold no love for a son who chose to play his college football in Austin, Texas - star Braves defensive back Devanta Johnson has taken plenty of advice from Cobbs.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect has drawn the all too easy comparisons to Cobbs from even those around the Central program.
"Yes sir, I've been talking to him, people say we look alike, we play alike. For a while people were saying I was going to be the next star. I came in when he was a senior and he was always telling me to go to class and take care of that stuff," Johnson said. "He said that I was going to be a star. Actually he was saying he was going to be here for homecoming."
