Hansen and Sooners Start New Chapter
It's become an annual story for Sooner recruiting fans to follow - who will be Josh Heupel's quarterback offer in any given class? The Sooners typically pick one quarterback and zero in their attention on him until they know where they stand with the prospect.
In the class of 2014, there had long been a feeling that the leader for the spot was Edmond (Okla.) Santa Fe four-star quarterback Justice Hansen and during Oklahoma's Feb. 2 junior day on Saturday Heupel and co. confirmed that suspicion. Though the offer was something some had expected, Hansen got a hint that it was coming but had to wait a while to actually get the news.
"When I first got there, me and my parents met and went with coach Heupel first and he kind of talked to me about football and everything and said after lunch at 1:30 we were going to go meet with coach Stoops," Hansen said. "We went to lunch and he took us up there and that's when they offered me. He had nice office.
"I had never been in there before, he had rings, balls, trophies."
