Wood Tough as Steel

As just a freshman starting next to one of the state's premier linebackers, Devin Rolan, it was safe to say that people knew about McAlester, Okla. athlete Dalton Wood early on and huge expectations followed. Those expectations were largely fulfilled as he helped lead the Buffaloes to the state semi-finals in 2011 and his attention was only growing heading into his sophomore season.
It was a season in which he'd not only return as a linebacker but would take the reins of McAlester's offense from prolific Tony Kiefer and try to lead Rolan and company to McAlester's first state title in some time.
That's when his plan hit a snag, early in the first game Wood was getting McAlester's season underway was starting to play the position he has always dreamed of starring at and then everything went black.
