New school, same relationship
AUBURN | Chase Robison is making an unusual shift.
The 6-foot-4 defensive end signed with Texas Tech last season, wooed to Lubbock by former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville, but now is on his way to the Plains himself.
Robison has accepted a scholarship offer from coach Gus Malzahn and will begin using his three remaining years of eligibility during the 2014 season.
"(Malzahn) was one of my favorite coaches who recruited me out of high school," said Robison, who was a three-star recruit out of Memphis' Christian Brothers High in 2012. "I'm really comfortable with him. I grew close to him during high-school recruiting and him being such a personable, nice guy. I talk to him like he's my father figure. I have a lot of respect for him. He also knows how to win, how to coach the game."
