R.J. still in play?
Longhorn fans are used to being on top of the world when recruiting news breaks, so it's easy to understand why the burnt orange fan base was taken aback when the state of Texas' top prospect for 2008, defensive end R.J. Washington, committed to Oklahoma in November.
Because of the early choice - Washington made the pledge 15 months before he is set to sign on his national letter of intent - many fans were left wondering if the decision would stick. While the commitment is still on the table, Washington said he's not closing any doors.
Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech, LSU, Louisville and Florida were among the schools have caught Washington's attention, and he said it's too early to say how things might play out.
