Pickens stars shine in jamboree

TideSports.com With the end of the 2006-07 school year approaching, it is spring football time in the state of Alabama. One star on display last Friday night was Pickens County defensive end/tight end Michael Williams whose squad took on the larger classification Tarrant Wildcats.
At the end of the evening, Class 2A Pickens County had outscored 4A Tarrant 21-0.
"We knew we could compete with them, but you just don't know with a bigger school playing a smaller school," said Williams, who finished the evening with four receptions and a touchdowns in limited play after turning his ankle in the second quarter. "We threw the ball really well, and I think I did alright."
