As Oklahoma's recruiting has gone more and more national there has been something of a sentiment that the program has lost some of the players that grew up caring about the program; an element that was evident in the Sooners 2000 national championship squad. It was about that same time that Moore (Okla.) Southmoore three-star tight end Austin Haywood was learning about Oklahoma football and fell in love with the Sooners.
