Chicago DE hoping for Big Ten offers
One of the top defensive linemen in Illinois is pleased with the four MAC offers he has but he readily admits that he hopes to have the opportunity to play in the Big Ten.
Mikhail Dubose, a 6-foot-3, 240-pound defensive end from Chicago (Ill.) Hubbard, registered 89 tackles and eight sacks last season, earning a reputation as one of the state's top pass rushers. Dubose is poised for a big senior season and he's hoping it works out that way and his offer list grows.
With offers from Ball State, Central Michigan, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan, Dubose has done well for himself so far. That said, he's hoping more opportunities arise.
"This summer I haven't really been able to get out to schools because of football camps. I'm playing tight end this year so I've been doing 7-on-7s with my team," Dubose explained.
"We're competing for nationals in the Cleveland Browns' stadium and we'll be there from (July) 7-10. When our two week break comes up I plan to visit a couple of schools.
"I'm really hoping to get my first Big Ten offer so I'm going to Minnesota, Indiana and Iowa. Hopefully I'll be able to get out and go visit Boston College and West Virginia, too."
Are any of those schools showing signs that they might offer?
"Indiana has shown a lot of interest and so has Boston College. I know Coach Bedenbaugh from West Virginia so they're interested.
"I would have to say I don't have any favorites yet, though. When I start breaking down schools after I take my visits I'll see where everything goes."
