    QUARTERBACK
    Position Coach: Josh Heupel
    Offers: 1
    Uncommitted: 0
    Rivals100 Targets: 0
    State of Focus: Oklahoma

    2014 Returnees: 3

    Predicted No. of Signees: 1

    Commitments: 1

    Current Status: Completed

    Top Target: Justice Hansen

    All Targets

The Skinny: Through his years in Norman, Josh Heupel has always been a 'first player first' recruiter and the class of 2014 was no different with the Sooner offensive coordinator zeroing in on his target, Hansen, early on and never focusing on many others until he knew the verdict of the Santa Fe product. Hansen made Oklahoma's day in the moments before the Sooners spring game on April 13 letting Bob Stoops know his plans to be a Sooner, now we all get to see how Hansen will fit into Oklahoma's, apparent, new plans for their annually high-powered offense.

    RUNNING BACK
    Position Coach: Cale Gundy
    Offers: 8
    Uncommitted: 5
    Rivals100 Targets: 2
    State of Focus: Texas

    2014 Returnees: 5

    Predicted No. of Signees: 3

    Commitments: 1

    Current Status: Strong

    Top Target: Joe Mixon

    All Targets

The Skinny: This position isn't just about running backs, where we're currently anticipating Oklahoma's number to hit two but also includes Oklahoma's glaring need at fullback. While it's well known that Trey Millard will head to the NFL next season it's not quite as well known that Aaron Ripkowski is now on scholarship and will return. However, he'll be a senior in 2014 and then the Sooners will be completely without a fullback. Fullbacm hasn't seen an offer go out yet but there are several targets that Oklahoma seems to be taking more and more of a shine to and an offer seems to be approaching, if not imminent. Meanwhile at running back Nathan Starks' off-field troubles haven't scared Oklahoma away as of yet but Mixon may have become option No. 1.

    WIDE RECEIVER
    Position Coach: Jay Norvell
    Offers: 15
    Uncommitted: 11
    Rivals100 Targets: 3
    State of Focus: Texas

    2014 Returnees: 8

    Predicted No. of Signees: 3

    Commitments: 1

    Current Status: Strong

    Top Target: KD Cannon

    All Targets

The Skinny: This has been a turbulent group with Oklahoma gaining it's first commitment of the class from Armanti Foreman only to see him back out of his choice with the Sooners landing budding California superstar Dallis Todd within a short period of time. However, since the two blockbuster storylines things have been relatively quiet at Norvell's homebase. That said Oklahoma seems to be in prime position with several top targets including Keenen Brown, Corey Holmes, and Jeffery Mead.

    COMMITMENTS:

    FOUR-STAR: Dallis Todd

    TIGHT END
    Position Coach: Jay Boulware
    Offers: 11
    Uncommitted: 5
    Rivals100 Targets: 0
    State of Focus: Texas

    2014 Returnees: 2

    Predicted No. of Signees: 2

    Commitments: 1

    Current Status: Solid

    Top Target: Dalton Schultz

    All Targets

The Skinny: No position has seen more activity over the past month than tight end with the commitment of Carson Meier along with numerous new offers, and several early Oklahoma targets electing to take their talent elsewhere. That said, it's clear that Boulware is doing all he can to be ensure that he sees each and every quality tight end from coast to coast. As the SoonerScoop has noted before, Oklahoma has a unique connection with Schultz but Mavin Saunders may be the most likely possibility.

    COMMITMENTS:

    THREE-STAR: Carson Meier

    OFFENSIVE TACKLE
    Position Coach: Bill Bedenbaugh
    Offers: 23
    Uncommitted: 14
    Rivals100 Targets: 9
    State of Focus: Texas

    2014 Returnees: 5

    Predicted No. of Signees: 4

    Commitments: N/A

    Current Status: Urgent

    Top Target: Braden Smith

    All Targets

The Skinny: Prior to the arrival of Bill Bedenbaugh Oklahoma was short on possibilities but now the Sooners are in on the race for tons of nationally elite prospects. They've long been invovled with Smith but no one is quite sure where the extremely quiet big man from Olathe, Kan. stands with the new Sooner assistant, or anyone else for that matter. Don't be surprised to see a JUCO or two as part of this class but Oklahoma needs some talented youth at offensive tackle in a big way. A name to keep an eye on is Dallas Bishop Dunne standout Jovan Pruitt, who seems to have taken a shine to the Sooners as of late.

    COMMITMENTS:

    No Current Commitments.

    INTERIOR OFFENSIVE LINE
    Position Coach: Bill Bedenbaugh
    Offers: 9
    Uncommitted: 6
    Rivals100 Targets: 2
    State of Focus: Texas

    2014 Returnees: 6

    Predicted No. of Signees: 2

    Commitments: 1

    Current Status: Solid

    Top Target: Natrell Curtis

    All Targets

The Skinny: There is no clear picture as to just how strongly Oklahoma's sees it's needs here but after signing just two players last year - both of whom are junior college prospects - it seems fairly unlikely that any less than two would be the answer. However, with a solid base of young players it shouldn't need to go far beyond that. The question of who Oklahoma will find to fill the spots is still a bit in doubt as most of their current offers are possible but with the early commitment of Dalton, it gives Oklahoma some room to breathe and be patient.

    COMMITMENTS:

    THREE-STAR: Alex Dalton

    Latest News

    DEFENSIVE END
    Position Coach: Jerry Montgomery
    Offers: 13
    Uncommitted: 10
    Rivals100 Targets: 5
    State of Focus: Texas

    2014 Returnees: 10

    Predicted No. of Signees: 2

    Commitments: N/A

    Current Status: Stable

    Top Target: Solomon Thomas

    All Targets

The Skinny: Oklahoma's defensive end group in the class of 2013 probably won't get it's due for some time, but the group has talent and as much as anything buys some time for Montgomery to really pick out guys and try to identify his top targets. Oklahoma has missed out on in-state standout Deondre Clark but seems to be in very good shape for a pair of Dallas area defensive ends - Grant Blankenship and Justin Hollins. Also keep an eye on Oklahoma perhaps making another later offer to a Tulsa Booker T. Washington product, this year defensive end Jordan Brailford could follow in the footsteps of Dominique Alexander in 2013.

    DEFENSIVE TACKLE
    Position Coach: Jerry Montgomery

    Uncommitted: 4

    2014 Returnees: 7

    Predicted No. of Signees: 3

    Commitments: N/A

    Current Status: Unstable

    Top Target: Garrald McDowell

    All Targets

The Skinny: Unlike defensive end, Oklahoma is in need of not only quality but quantity in the 2014 class. That's not to say the 2013 group is without serious potential but each of the three high school defensive tackle signees has real questions in one aspect or another. The other problem is the reality that unlike defensive end it's not a great year regionally for defensive tackles - in fact it's almost historically bad. That being said Oklahoma seems to have caught the eye of not only McDowell but could be nearing a decision from Lufkin, Texas emerging standout D.J. Williams.

    LINEBACKER
    Position Coach: Tim Kish
    Offers: 17
    Uncommitted: 10
    Rivals100 Targets: 6
    State of Focus: Texas

    2014 Returnees: 5

    Predicted No. of Signees: 4

    Commitments: N/A

    Current Status: Urgent

    Top Target: Nyles Morgan

    All Targets

The Skinny: Aside from offensive line there is no greater need in this class than at linebacker as the Sooners currently have a shockingly low number of bodies at the position. With that in mind Oklahoma was aggressive with their early offers and is starting to make headway with several prospects who could be interesting fits for Oklahoma. Almost certainly the most likely possibility is Christian Sam or a few other players that Oklahoma is seriously considering offering although there is something of a feeling of a few names being quietly kept under wraps for now. If Oklahoma can get a visit from Morgan this summer - something he has frequently mentioned - they may have more of a shot than most realize.

    DEFENSIVE BACK
    Position Coach: Mike Stoops
    Offers: 29
    Uncommitted: 16
    Rivals100 Targets: 9
    State of Focus: Texas

    2014 Returnees: 10

    Predicted No. of Signees: 4

    Commitments: 1

    Current Status: Stable

    Top Target: Michiah Quick

    All Targets

The Skinny: Last year's defensive back class, both nationally and with those Oklahoma signed, was a very strong group. However, the class of 2014 has a chance to be even more special in both regards. In-state Oklahoma has zeroed in and let Jenks star Steven Parker know what a priority he is and nationally players like Quick, who could visit Norman this summer, are high on Oklahoma and seem very intersted in seeing what they can find. Quick, of course, is also the former teammate of two of those 2013 signees - Hatari Byrd and L.J. Moore. The recent commitments of both Marcus Green and Tito Windham took some real pressure off of the class.

    COMMITMENTS:

    THREE-STAR: Marcus Green, Vonte McQuinnie

    TWO-STAR: Tito Windham

NOTE: This is not Oklahoma's actual board, it is merely an educated opinion on the comings and goings of Oklahoma's recruiting.
