SoonerScoop.com's 2011 Watch List | SoonerScoop.com | last sorted on 10/27/2009

2011 RankPosHt/WtSchools
  Isaac Bennett
Tulsa (OK) Booker T. Washington
  RB5-11/180list
Bennett, IsaacAnother in the long line of talented Booker T. Washington skill position talents. Bennett is a big back who has impressive speed. He hasn't accomplished a ton to date but his talent is undeniable and could see him become a really respected prospect in the next year.
  Spencer Bond
Madill (OK) Madill
  QB6-2/185list
Bond, SpencerBond has some ways to go as a polished quarterback prospect but has a lot of natural athletic ability and as he continues to develop as a passer his stock will only continue to rise.
  Archie Bradley
Broken Arrow (OK) Broken Arrow
  QB6-3/170list
Bradley, ArchieThere may be no quarterback, among the many in Oklahoma's class of 2011, who has more natural talent than the Muskogee transfer. Bradley showed flashes of brilliance as a sophomore but also sputtered too often. He'll have to find more consistency but it will be tough to do so with a heavy summer baseball schedule. Interestingly enough it sounds like Bradley wants to focus on football and intends to play in college, it will be interesting to see how college coaches react to the news.
  Kentrell Brothers
Guthrie (OK) Guthrie
  LB6-2/205list
Brothers, KentrellBrothers is an impressive athlete that for whatever reason went somewhat unappreciated in spite of having a monster sophomore season for one of Oklahoma's best 5A programs. Brothers stars at defensive end/linebacker and wide receiver for the Blue Jays this year and is almost undoubtedly one of the state's most disruptive defenders.
  Jonathan Burton
Enid (OK) Enid
  RB5-9/195list
Talk to anyone who has faced Burton and they rave about his talent. The big physical back has drawn a wide variety of comparisons but the one thing no one seems to doubt is his future as a division one running back.
  Steven Carpenter
Jenks (OK) Jenks
  WR6-2/170list
Carpenter, StevenCarpenter showed up at Oklahoma's camp as a virtual unknown and made a solid impression throughout the three days. It was unclear if his production would meet his talent for the Trojans but eight games he is averaging nearly 19-yards per catch and had a huge return against Bartlesville.
  Michael Cole
Oklahoma City (OK) Millwood
  DB5-10/175list
Cole, MichaelCole is a transfer that has come in and taken a starting job amongst a lot of talent and has more than earned his keep on both sides of the ball. While he seems to see himself as a receiver prospect most who watch him feel his brightest future is at cornerback.
  Daniel Davis
Norman (OK) North
  DE6-2/225list
Davis, DanielDavis has been the next 'big thing' at North since he was a freshman when former Timberwolves star Beau Blankenship informed Rivals.com that 'he'll be better than all of us'. Davis still has work to do refining his pass rush skills but the natural talent is there but he is likely to end up at linebacker in the college game. Interestingly as a junior he has shown a real ability as a tight end.
  Hunter Davis
Choctaw (OK) Choctaw
  LB6-4/245list
Davis, HunterDavis has been well known in recruiting circles since the summer of 2008 when he showed up to Oklahoma's camp following his freshman year and stood out even amongst a group of juniors and seniors. He returned as a sophomore and again put on a strong showing though he seems to be growing into an h-back or defensive lineman. He has hit a growth spurt and looks ready to become one of Oklahoma's best.
  Dylan Dismuke
Duncan (OK) Duncan
  OL6-6/292list
Dismuke, DylanOne of two 2011 Sooner state prospects along the offensive line who may have the potential to be high-major recruits. Dismuke had been a virtual unknown prior to showing up to Oklahoma's camp and looking very strong prior to a slight injury. He has been a big part of Duncan's resurgent season and could be well on his way to big-time recruitment.
  Kameron Doolittle
Edmond (OK) Edmond Memorial
  WR5-10/170list
Doolittle, KameronOne of the state's biggest playmakers and a prospect who still seems to be growing into his frame. Several older defensive backs who have faced Doolittle, among other talented in-state receivers, say he is among the state's most promising young players. Doolittle's multitude of roles for Edmond make him even more attractive as a recruit.
  Rashaud Foreman
Lawton (OK) MacArthur
  WR6-0/185list
Foreman, RashaudPhysically and in terms of his style of play Foreman was eerily reminiscent of former Sooner Juaquin Iglesias. After seeing him again this summer Foreman has quickly developed and is a big imposing receiver that may really have a bright future.
  Emilio Gatewood
Oklahoma City (OK) Millwood
  RB5-8/175list
Gatewood, EmilioGatewood is an enigma not because his talent is in question but simply which side of the ball will he play on. As a running back he is a quick-footed elusive runner and surprisingly as a safety is a physical player who loves to make the big hit.
  Tyler George
Altus (OK) Altus
  LB6-2/185list
Almost everyone who faces George raves about his work rate and natural instincts. He isn't the biggest linebacker in the state but as fellow 2011 prospect Cody Miller said; 'that guy just disrupts everything'.
  Garrett Gladd
Sallisaw (OK)
  OL6-4/280list
Gladd, GarrettGladd is as highly regarded as just about any player in the Eastern half of Oklahoma and during his performance at the Sooners summer camp he did little to hurt that idea. Gladd is a powerful blocker who still needs work in pass-blocking but has a lot of natural tools.
  David Glidden
Mustang (OK) Mustang
  WR5-9/165list
Glidden, DavidIf you find yourself without something to do on a Friday night this fall in Oklahoma it's hard to think of a player more worth the price of admission in Oklahoma high school football than the electric Glidden. He isn't the biggest guy around but at least once a game he makes an unbelievable play. Glidden's junior season has more than lived up to the hype and he has the Broncos rolling towards the playoffs.
  Bobby Harris
Grove (OK) Grove
  LB6-2/240list
Harris is a player who has been listed here because many of the same folks who raved about Gus Jones and Courtney Gaston are talking about yet another area linebacker. Harris hasn't been seen by SoonerScoop.com but coaches in the area think he is as good as any in that brutal 4A region.
  Kamron Highshaw
Midwest City (OK) Midwest City
  LB6-2/205list
Highshaw, KamronHighshaw, who transferred in from Douglass, shows signs of being a powerful run-stuffing middle linebacker or a pass-rushing defensive end. He has good closing speed but plays a bit upright at times, it will be interesting to see how he projects to the college game.
  Jabral Johnson
Lawton (OK) Lawton
  LB6-2/205list
Johnson, JabralPhysically Johnson stands out as a future outside linebacker for some program who rates athleticism over pure brute force. After watching him in person against Southmoore it's tough to tell how many problems were his and how many were simply that of a completely outgunned Wolverine defense.
  Sawyer Kollmorgen
Jenks (OK) Jenks
  QB6-1/192list
Kollmorgen, SawyerKollmorgen is yet another quarterback for the class of 2011 who has shown real signs of being a player. While he had a few errors in the state final Kollmorgen also must be given credit for helping the Trojans find their way to the match-up with Union. He showed up at the Schuman combine and was very impressive during the two-hour workout last summer.
  Trevon Lewis
Midwest City (OK) Midwest City
  DE6-2/210list
Lewis, TrevonThe physical maturation of Lewis from late in his sophomore year to just before his junior season was perhaps more remarkable than any player in the state. Lewis got involved with power lifting and has put on countless pounds of muscle and looks ready to become one of the state's elite defensive weapons.
  Tyler Lockett
Tulsa (OK) Booker T. Washington
  WR5-10/160list
Scoop knows how many times this family has been underestimated and has no intention of doing the same again. Lockett hasn't had the junior season that many expected statistically but has made some plays each time SoonerScoop.com has seen him.
  Jake Love
Tonkawa (OK) Tonkawa
  LB6-0/195list
Love, JakeLove is a name that most are unaware of at this point but he is, like current Sooner and former fellow Class-A star Ronnell Lewis, dominating his level of competition. Love is an outside linebacker in the college game who has legitimate 4.6-second speed in the 40-yard dash.
  Trent Martin
Jenks (OK) Jenks
  LB6-2/220list
Martin, TrentMost of you now know about Martin after stellar performances at the Tulsa Schuman combine as well as the national combine in Dallas. Martin is a big physical linebacker who can run well and will almost undoubtedly be one of the state's top prospects for 2011.
  Isaac Maselera
Glenpool (OK) Glenpool
  DB6-1/185Oklahoma State
SoonerScoop.com hasn't had a chance to watch Maselera but few players in the state have earned more respect from the competition than the safety from South of Tulsa.
  Cody Miller
Lawton (OK) Lawton
  QB6-4/185list
Miller, CodyMiller is possibly the state's premier pro-style quarterback, regardless of class. Miller is a big quarterback who runs better than one would expect. Actually his physical tools and make-up aren't all that dissimilar from the defending Heisman trophy winner. Now Miller has a long ways to go in refining his game and fixing a few mechanical flaws but he undoubtedly has all the tools to be yet another big-time quarterback for 2011 in the state of Oklahoma.
  Connor Myers
Edmond (OK) Edmond Memorial
  DT6-0/270list
Myers, ConnorMyers may not have the physical make-up that everyone is looking for in a defensive tackle but much like former Edmond area defensive tackle Kelly Gregg he has a non-stop motor and tons of athleticism that stems from a highly decorated Taekwondo career in which Myers ranks in the top five nationally in his age group.
  Davion Pearson
Oklahoma City (OK) Millwood
  DT6-1/315list
Pearson, DavionThe big defensive tackle is a new name on the recruiting scene but in the few chances to see him that have presented themselves he has been stellar. Watch out for him to really elevate himself once his film gets out.
  Brent Pritchett
Oklahoma City (OK) Southeast
  DT6-5/280list
Pritchett, BrentPritchett is an extremely raw prospect and the first division one type talent to emerge from Southeast since current Sooner superstar Gerald McCoy. Like many big guys Pritchett doesn't know how to push himself but when he is motivated he shows the ability to be a top 25 prospect in Oklahoma.
  Larone Richardson
Oklahoma City (OK) Bishop McGuinness
  RB5-9/165list
Richardson, LaroneRichardson has spent the past few years waiting his turn to become a star for the mighty McGuinness program. Richardson has a ton of speed and big play ability and could be a player who really surprises those who haven't been paying attention around the state. This year he has lived up to his hype with several big games against some of the top teams on Bishop McGuinness' tough schedule.
  Kevonte Richardson
Oklahoma City (OK) Millwood
  QB6-1/185list
Richardson, KevonteWhile several are perceived to be dual-threat quarterbacks around Oklahoma Richardson is the purest definition of the skill set. Richardson continues to improve as a passer but his ability with his feet may be what truly separates him.
  Tavis Spencer
Lawton (OK) Lawton
  TE6-4/215list
Spencer, TavisSpencer originally was shown by Rivals as a tight end prospect but after watching him against Southmoore it may be as a skilled defensive end that he makes his mark.
  Brandon Swindall
Oklahoma City (OK) Millwood
  ATH6-2/170list
Swindall, BrandonSwindall is another in-state prospect with good bloodlines and will make an interesting prospect next year. He is built like a receiver but moves more like a safety, much like his brother he may end up really growing into himself as a senior.
  Terrance Taylor
Tulsa (OK) Booker T. Washington
  DB5-10/180list
Taylor, TerranceTaylor isn't the biggest corner but his ability as a pure coverage guy has drawn comparisons to former Hornet, and current Tulsa Golden Hurricane freshman, Justin Skillens. Taylor will get plenty of attention this year with so many coaches coming by to see the defending state champions and all of their senior talent.
  Kendal Thompson
Moore (OK) Southmoore
  QB6-2/180Oklahoma
Thompson, KendalThompson has shot up the charts this spring. He has gone from a player who seemed on the fringe of the top 10 to a player who seems destined to fight for the top spot. That's no small thing considering that Thompson isn't the prototype at the position but shows good arm strength and is perhaps the sharpest player at the position the state has produced at the high school level. He simply understands the game and the ways to attack a defense. With Southmoore's skill position talent Thompson has been leading the state's most talented offense and racking up serious points.
  Josh Turner
Oklahoma City (OK) Millwood
  DB6-0/185list
Turner, JoshThe early favorite for the state's top spot, Turner is perhaps the best defensive back to emerge from the state since Edmond Santa Fe legend Reggie Smith. Interestingly enough during Turner's impressive showing as Millwood ran to last summer's small school 7-on-7 state championship Smith was on the sidelines just before the start of Turner's championship game. Could it be a passing of the torch?
  James Twins
Clinton (OK) Clinton
  DT6-3/285list
Twins, JamesTwins is a player who still has as lot of work to do to become a consistent every down prospect. However he shows a lot of ability from time to time and though he already has great size most believe he'll only continue to develop and reach his father's stature. Twins can be a big-time player but he'll need to decide he wants to reach his potential.
  Dylan Warner
Lawton (OK) MacArthur
  QB6-1/190list
Warner, DylanWarner has to be one of the more intriguing prospects in Oklahoma for 2011 because while it's hard to deny his maturating as a dual-threat quarterback it's also hard to argue with the fact he could someday make a very able slot receiver or even a physical safety on the defensive side of the ball.
  Deontay Wilson
Coweta (OK) Coweta
  DE6-3/250list
Wilson, DeontayWilson is probably the most physically impressive lineman in the state of Oklahoma at this point in time but he'll have to learn how to go hard each and every snap before he is an elite recruit. If Wilson finds that level of play every snap, he can be an elite guy down the road.
  Tyrequek Zimmerman
Lawton (OK) Lawton
  DB6-0/178list
Zimmerman, TyrequekZimmerman is probably the state's best two way prospect. Defensively he looks like a very serious safety and on offense he has hands like flypaper that could turn him into a very good flanker type wide receiver.
