SCOOPHD: Sooners Drop Fifth Straight

After the first 20 minutes of Tuesday night's Red River Rivalry Oklahoma led 33-28.

Twenty minutes later Lon Kruger's Oklahoma 13-12 (3-10) basketball team found themselves staring at a fifth straight conference loss as Texas 17-9 (7-6) outscored the Sooners 41-25 in the second half on their way to a 69-58 victory.

Junior guard Sam Grooms tied a career high with 10 assists but failed to record a bucket.

Sophomore Tyler Neal finished with eight points in his most productive outing since Dec. 29 at Cincinnati. He entered Tuesday night's contest shooting 1-for-10 from three point range.

Oklahoma will travel to Ames (Iowa) on Saturday afternoon to take on Iowa State. The Cyclones hit a record 15 three point field goals and won the first meeting in Norman 77-70. Tip-off is set for 12:47 p.m.
