Cyclones offer top 100 standout
Rivals.com released the revised top 100 prospects for the class of 2009 this week and making a big jump up to No. 35 in the country was Jenks (Okla.) cornerback Gabe Lynn. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Lynn recently picked up an offer from Iowa State and talked about his reaction to the Cyclones offer on Tuesday.
"It came last week," Lynn said of the Iowa State offer. "My coach let me know that they wanted to offer and they said they were impressed with me. Since then they have been writing me letters."
Iowa State has some connections to Jenks High that have helped Lynn forge a positive early impression of the Cyclones coaching staff.
"I guess one of the coaches on staff coached with one of my coaches," said Lynn. "He said he was a real good, frank guy and real easy to get along with. He said he had good experiences with him and they are going to do whatever they can to turn that program around."
Lynn was then able to combine those comments about the Iowa State coaches with what he saw from the Cyclones on the field this year and that has generated some early interest.
