Texas WR commits

Two days after returning home from his visit to Iowa City, wide receiver JaCorey Shepherd decided that he had seen enough. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Shepherd, who hails from Mesquite, Texas, made the call this morning and gave his verbal commitment to the Hawkeyes.

As a junior, Shepherd caught 46 passes for 672 yards and seven touchdowns at Mesquite Horn High School. This month, he drew positive reviews after his performance at the Forth Worth Nike Camp and hopes to earn early playing time at wide receiver for the Hawkeyes.
