The chase for Chase continues

Chase Hounshell has some visits left to take and then the Kirtland (Ohio) Lake Catholic defensive end will narrow his list once again and then maybe be ready to make a decision. This process, though, has been difficult on the 6-foot-5, 242-pound prospect.

"It has been really tough," Hounshell said. "Everyone tells me to go to a place you can see yourself going. It's hard because after every place I visit I feel like I could go there. It's frustrating and it's hard.

"The big things are academics, another is my relationship with my coach, my position coach and my head coach, that's important because I'm a big people person. Probably another that's huge is going to be playing time. Am I still going to be able to fight for my spot and where will I be on the field?"

Boston College will assuredly be one of the leaders for Hounshell, who has already visited Chestnut Hill and seems to love the coaching staff. Rivals.com rates the Ohio prospect as a three-star recruit.

"For sure," Hounshell said of Boston College making his final list. "I just talked to coach (Frank Spaziani) and my recruiting coach. I talk to them every day. I love Boston College. They're definitely in my top, I guarantee it."

The plan moving forward for Hounshell is to visit Michigan State's one-day camp on July 12 and he wants to see Michigan and West Virginia before figuring out more about his recruiting process.

Hounshell's final visits before he narrows his list even further will be important. Boston College is definitely going to make his final list but which other programs are going to be on board? Duke, Illinois, Indiana, Louisville, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wisconsin are also on his offer sheet.

"I still need to set things up for Michigan and West Virginia but that should be later this month in July," Hounshell said.

"After that I need to start thinking about it some more and I'm going to trim the list from six to three and then I'm going to visit more of those schools and talk more with those schools and the decision will probably go more into my senior season."
