Sooners Trying to Make a Run at Texas Star

For all of the great talent in Texas in the class of 2012 perhaps no player was more assumed to be a complete waste of Oklahoma's time than Austin high's Cayleb Jones. The son of former Dallas Cowboy Super Bowl champion Robert Jones has been well known in recruiting circles since incredibly early in his high school career and with his locale considered most have thought the Sooners were an incredible long shot.

That may still be the case but don't tell that to the Sooner coaching staff as Bob Stoops, Bobby Jack Wright, and Jackie Shipp were all at Austin high last week to get a look at the 6-foot-2, 185-pound superstar.

And though the trio couldn't say much more than 'hello' to Jones he has had ample opportunity to speak with receivers coach Jay Norvell who has been making a real impression on Jones.
