Tide offers elite 2013 RB
After competing at the University of Alabama's camp earlier this week, 2013 running back Altee Tenpenny received an offer directly from Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban.
"He called me into the office, so it was me, my mother and my sister, and we sat down with him," Tenpenny said. "He was like 'I've got an offer for you.' I was happy. I felt great. I've already got four SEC offers under my belt."
Tenpenny, who also holds SEC offers from Arkansas, Auburn and Ole Miss, made the trip from North Little Rock, Ark., to Tuscaloosa on Sunday to compete at the camp.
"It was hard," Tenpenny said. "It was strict. We did their type of workout, which is what they call a 4-40 workout. I think I did good. The coaches were coming up to me and talking to me throughout the camp, and afterwards they told me I did a good job."
The elite 2013 prospect stayed at UA on Sunday night and took a tour of the campus on Monday before heading back.
"It went well," Tenpenny said. "I went on a one-on-one tour of the campus, around the academic facilities and the stadium. It was cool. I enjoyed all of it, the whole thing."
The 5-foot-11, 200-pound running back compared his running style to Alabama's Trent Richardson and likes what he's seen from the Crimson Tide backs over the last couple years.
"I'm more of a combo back," Tenpenny said. "I've got the best of both worlds, power and speed."
Tenpenny is nowhere near a decision but has plans to return to Tuscaloosa this fall for the Arkansas game.
