BC offers 2014 wide receiver
Get used to the name Jamil Kamara.
uess they knew about me a little bit before and then my coach was talking to them hands-on now and showing them my highlight film. I guess they liked it.
"My coach was telling me how (Boston College) is a good school and if I graduated from there it would be great. I've heard a lot about them."
Even though Kamara just wrapped up his sophomore year, some high-profile schools have already offered and many others are showing interest. While Kamara said he wasn't expecting this much attention he's not totally shocked it's coming in so early.
One look at his sophomore highlight tape shows an outstanding young player filled with skills at the wide receiver position.
"It's great," Kamara said. "It's early so I can see who's coming. I really respect the teams that offered me early because they were there from the beginning. I'm trying to be patient and see what else comes.
"I kind of expected it but not this many offers. I didn't think I'd be getting two or three a month. I had a few and then two or three more came in so I was pretty happy."
This off-season Kamara said he's planning to take a lot of unofficial visits and then hit up numerous camps and combines. He has been invited to the U.S. Army National Combine in San Antonio and he's planning to compete at The Opening in Beaverton, Ore., this summer.
The 2014 prospect said he would like to take trips to Oregon, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Rutgers and some other schools - he didn't specifically mention Boston College - and said he'd prefer to visit schools that are out of his home state to get a better feel for what's available.
"I kind of want to go to schools in different states to see how it is there," Kamara said. "I could do that maybe by going to some camps."
