Gibson and Mac are key for Likely
At 5-foot-7 and 171-pounds Belle Glade (Fla.) Glades Central cornerback Will Likely is small in stature, but has big game and some of college football's top programs have taken notice of the rising senior.
In no specific order Likely lists Alabama, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami (Fla.), Oregon, Purdue, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wisconsin as his favorites. He is also considering Wake Forest.
"It's [Wake] a great program," Likely said. "They'll be looking out for me. I talk to them. When they came out here for Dominique [Gibson] we had a few words together. He's [Ray McCartney] a nice coach. He's a coach you get along with quickly."
Likely plans to visit Alabama, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami (Fla.) and Wake Forest during the spring practice period.
Rivals.com rates Likely as a four-star recruit and as the nation's No. 79 overall prospect.
The cornerback teamed with 2012 Wake Forest signee Dominique Gibson to anchor Belle Glade (Fla.) Glades Central's defense.
"That [to play with Gibson again] would be great."
Likely was a major factor in Glades Central's run to the third round of the state playoffs and 12-1 finish. He rushed for 862 yards, had 832 yards receiving, scored 21 all-purpose touchdowns, and intercepted seven passes.
He participated in this year's Under Armor National Combine in Orlando.
"I did pretty good. They had me as one of the top corners. I could have done better, but overall I think I did good. We did both the running part and the running part."
Likely was clocked at a 4.48 in the 40.
He also plays point guard for Glades Central's basketball team.
