BC target wants to decide before summer

Mike McGlinchey has plenty of ties to Boston College and the Eagles have always had a good shot with the Pennsylvania lineman.

The 6-foot-9, 280-pound lineman from Philadelphia (Pa.) William Penn Charter School told EagleAction.com this week that he's up to 20 offers, making his work a lot harder.

"I'll probably know more after the next couple of visits I take," he explained. "I think I'm going to take these last few visits and from there I'll make a list and start making a decision."

McGlinchey said he hopes to make that decision by the end of his junior year of high school.

He plans on visiting Notre Dame (March 24), Wisconsin (March 26) and Penn State (March 31) in the weeks ahead.

With the explosion in interest from schools all over the country are the Eagles still in good shape?

"Yes, I've spoken with Coach Siravo in the past week and they're still a school I'm interested in. We'll see what happens," he said.

"My cousin and uncle have gone there before. They were the first to offer and they've been recruiting me the longest."

In spite of his family ties to BC he doesn't think that will be a huge factor in his decision.

"I don't think that's necessarily important to me. I do want to make my own decision and not just follow in my family's footsteps. I have gotten close to the coaching staff and that makes me feel comfortable with BC."
