Hoggard High boasts a pair of prospects

Hoggard High in Wilmington was one of the top football teams in the state last season. Led by Shrine Bowl quarterback Brandon Miley, they rolled to 14 straight wins to start the year before losing a tough 31-29 match-up to eventual 4-A state champion Rose High in Greenville.

Head coach Scott Braswell is hoping his team will be able to make another run despite losing to Miley, who will attend Presbyterian. Braswell has two players he thinks will develop into Division I-A prospects, including offensive guard Jonathan Cooper, who has received some early attention from NC State.
