Barrett Jones talks about Vanderbilt offer

Evangelical Christian School offensive tackle Barrett Jones has been a popular name during the early stages of the 2008 recruiting period. Heading into March, the 6-foot-5, 255-pound standout from Memphis (Tenn.) had already picked up offers from Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Tennessee and was been named to the Rivals250 to watch list.

Last week, the athletic Jones picked up his sixth Southeastern Conference offer when the Vanderbilt Commodores informed him of an offer.

"For a while now I've been texting Coach [Warren] Belin and then he texted me and asked me if I could send some film," Jones told recently. "So I sent some and then I called him and he said they all loved my film. The offensive line coach [Robbie Caldwell] saw it, the defensive line coach saw it and they all loved it and then he said they were going to offer me a scholarship.
