Kelly says he's back to full strength

San Antonio welcomed the Oklahoma Sooners on Monday to kickoff Big 12 Media Days. SoonerScoop.com Editor Carey Murdock was there to talk with the Sooners as fall practices are just two weeks away.

Malcolm Kelly was one of the players representing the Sooners and Murdock caught up with him to talk about the upcoming season and his health status after offseason knee surgery.

SoonerScoop.com: Malcolm, everybody's lasting impression of you last year was leaving the Fiesta Bowl with a serious injury early in the game. It ended up being a torn meniscus and you've gone through some extensive rehab so tell us where you are physically with practices just two weeks away?
Malcolm Kelly:
I'm back to normal. Everything is back to normal and they just went in and cleaned everything out. They took it out and I don't need it no more.

7-on-7 drills, I'm out there running and jumping all over the place just like I was and it's like I never even hurt myself.

SS.com: So you are saying you are already 100 percent full-go?
I'm 100 percent. I'm jumping around and if the balls in the air I'm not going to sit around and say my knees are hurting. I'm going to jump up and get it. It's an instinct and when the ball is in the air, I'm going to go get it.

SS.com: Has anybody reminded you that you had 993 receiving yards last year? I just say that because you had said your goal was to have 1,000 yards receiving heading into last year.
Yeah. It was my goal. I don't know if people overlooked that or not, but that was all I needed, was just one catch. That's what makes it hurt so bad. When I got hurt in the Fiesta Bowl, all I had to do was catch the hitch route and I would have gotten 1,000 yards.

I think people just write you off all the time but I think that by the time the season comes around this year, it will be a different story.
