Uphill battle for RB?

Boston College has verbally offered about 20 rising juniors and one of them is Orlando (Fla.) Boone running back A.J. Turman but the Eagles might have their work cut out for them because Turman probably wants to stay somewhere in the Southeast.

It's still very early in his recruitment and the Orlando prospect doesn't want to make a decision too soon - two good signs for Boston College - but it definitely sounds like Turman would prefer to play somewhere down south.

"I would rather stay in the south like Alabama or Florida," Turman said. "I have a lot of family in Alabama and Florida and I like that both places have a lot of land.

"Florida State is an early favorite. It's a really nice school. I like the coaches and everything and it was really nice there."

Boston College, Florida State, NC State and Florida Atlantic have already offered Turman, a 6-foot, 197-pound prospect who shined at the Tampa Under Armour Combine this off-season.

The Eagles have been recruiting him but Turman hasn't talked much with the coaching staff yet and said he's not even sure how the offer from Boston College came about. He guesses that coaches saw his highlights on YouTube and got in contact that way.

Nothing has been decided yet but it appears Boston College could be facing an uphill battle in his recruitment since location will play a big factor in his decision-making process.

"I know a lot of schools were looking at my film that we put on YouTube this year and a lot of schools noticed that and then got in contact," Turman said. "Every time I talk to the coaches they tell me how they saw my video and how they like it.

"I don't know. It all depends how this season goes and when I go up to all the games that will be important too to see how their season goes."

This summer Turman took unofficial visits to Florida State, Alabama and Auburn. He plans to take some other trips this fall to see games.
