A Suprise for Rivals250 Visitor

After months of trying to make it up to Norman Gonzales (La.) East Ascension Rivals250 offensive tackle Adrian Ealy. The 6-foot-7, 282-pound Ealy was one of 19 official visitors for Oklahoma this past weekend, including 12 current commitments, but he didn't let the wealth of recruits on campus slow down his enjoyment of the trip.

The nation's No. 20 offensive tackle, and No. 173 overall player, Ealy was hosted by starting left tackle Orlando Brown. The two had a good time, with Ealy saying 'that's my boy, we have a real good relationship' but Ealy says it was the environment in Norman that truly caught his eye.

"The atmosphere of the game really surprised me, I didn't know it was going to be that big," Ealy said.

Ealy arrived in Norman with some expectations but says that the entirety of the trip surprised him.

"Compared to everything I (already) thought it would be it was great and amazing," he said.

Though the fans and players made a very real impact Ealy was clear that his time spent with the coaches was also something he was quite pleased with. Not surprisingly the Sooners were selling Ealy on the idea of a role similar to that of Brown - led by early playing time.

"(The coaches were saying) that they really can use me and that I can come at a young age and play," he said.

NOTE: SCOOPHD will be on hand to see Ealy this weekend and will have much more with him then.
