Barnes Keeps it All in the Sooner Family

For some time Southlake (Texas) Carroll Rivals250 class of 2017 safety Robert Barnes has been thought to be throwing around the idea of committing. The 6-foot-3, 189-pound four-star from one of the Lone Star State's powerhouse programs finally turned rumor into reality when he made his decision on Monday afternoon.
The nation's No. 12 safety chose Oklahoma over offers from Alabama, Baylor, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, and Texas amongst many others.

"I'm excited to announce that I will be committing to the University of Oklahoma," Barnes announced via Twitter.
Barnes, the son of former Sooner standout linebacker Reggie Barnes, picked up his Oklahoma offer after camping with the Sooners in early June. Just a month later he talked about his interest in the Sooners.
"Oklahoma would be up there for me. (The offer) was a blessing, I mean it was something I've been wanting my whole life. I've worked hard my whole life to get, just to make my dad proud. I knew he would be proud if I got an Oklahoma offer. So when that finally came it was a huge blessing," Barnes said.
