HD: Buddy Hields injury progression

Of the three Sooners unable to play Saturday due to injury, freshman guard Buddy Hield was the only one to show up fully dressed out in his OU warm-up suit. He still had on his protective boot, but he looked ready to pull it off at any moment and join in Oklahoma's 90-76 rout of Baylor at Lloyd Noble.

When fellow freshman Je'lon Hornbeak took a shot to the face that caused him to chip his teeth, Hield was among the trainers checking him out.
Still, Lon Kruger isn't going to push him to recover any sooner than necessary.
"We want to make sure he is very much healthy," Kruger said. "The doctors and Alex [Brown] our trainer are terrific. I am sure Buddy will want to be back sooner than later, but we will not rush that."
There's no reason to either.
The Sooners seemed to be a virtual lock for the NCAA tournament at this point in the season. The only milestone left to play for in the regular season is winning 20 games. OU is in prime position to do just that for the first time since the 2008-09 season.
Oklahoma's final four games of the regular season are against Texas, Iowa State, Texas Christian and West Virginia. Those teams are a combined 20-36 in conference play.
