Had fans been told they were witnessing history in the making there might have been more that stuck around. Those that did began to chant his name as the offense trotted onto the field.
Two plays later Samaje Perine juked to his right, slipped out of ankle tackle and was off to the races- as he had done the entire afternoon with the ball in his hands. Then an on-field celebration ensued following a record setting performance that ended with Perine ammassing 427 yards on 34 carries and five touchdowns.
