Sooner State Shines

CEDAR HILL, Texas -This week, following Saturday and Sunday's Dallas RivalsCamp events there has been a ton of talk of Oklahoma commitments, Oklahoma offers. What hasn't gotten a lot of attention is just how well Sooner state prospects fared with recruits from 2017 and 2018 putting on strong showings at both Saturday's RivalsCamp as well as the Quarterback Challenge on Sunday.

The Skinny: For anyone that may wonder if Condon's listed size is legitimate, wonder no more he is yet another in a really talented crew of 2018 prospects. As a pass blocker, which is any offensive lineman's exclusive role in camp one-on-ones, he is still raw and figuring things out but his length and athleticism give him potential to be a difference maker.

The Skinny: Though it was on Sunday, when the Scoop staff was not in attendance, where George really made headlines - taking home the quarterback challenge MVP award - that's not to say that he wasn't impressing people on Saturday. George isn't the biggest quarterback around but really isn't a guy that you'd expect to suffer much for his size, he is accurate, gets rid of the ball quickly and on the day backed up the decisiveness you see on his junior tape.

The Skinny: Lewis continues his ascendency as a receiver after working out at the same camp last summer at cornerback. We weren't able to see as many of his reps as perhaps some other players but Lewis continues to show just a natural knack for getting open and finding space for quarterbacks to get the ball to him. Lewis is a player that has speed but isn't one who relies on it for success instead showing the ability to use little movements and nuances to create a gap.

The Skinny: It was, oddly, the first chance to see Mashburn in person for much of the staff and the linebacker did little to disappoint. In the middle of a very talented linebacker group Mashburn more than held his own and showed off good feet in coverage. He isn't the state's biggest linebacker but he has good short area quickness and should gather more offers this spring as coaches get by and see his movement skills.

The Skinny: Perhaps no young player from Oklahoma has more intrigue going into the spring, Shaw's ball skills mixed with a great frame and quick feet make him an incredibly eye-catching prospect. Shaw had some issues with connecting with quarterbacks but rarely had any problem getting open. The Jones product is silky smooth in his routes and as he gets better with his hands, in terms of fighting off press coverage, he'll become a lethal downfield threat.
