Sooners Get Defensive

Oklahoma's 2018 class has been well regarded for quite some time but with few spaces remaining there has been a close eye on the defensive side of the ball and on Sunday night the Sooners got the huge boost they were looking for. That boost came in the form of St. Louis (Mo.) Lutheran North Rivals250 defensive end Ronnie Perkins.

Perkins had been expected to take a trip to Norman since the spring but whether it was the lack of a ride or even in one case a ride, with friend and fellow St. Louis high school star Trevor Trout, that wasn't going to return in time to fit Perkins's schedule.

But once he hit Norman, for a visit that Perkins will still be on until Monday, the decision was, apparently, imminent.

The talented defender chose Oklahoma over offers from coast to coast including Florida, Georgia, LSU, Texas, Michigan, USC, Notre Dame, and Miami (Fla.), amongst many others.

He is Oklahoma's third four-star defensive end commitment in the class, joining in-state stars Jalen Redmond and Ron Tatum.
