Even after announcing his commitment to Oklahoma on his birthday at a family party it seemed that Chris Daniels was set on the idea of taking some trips and seeing who else might get involved with his recruitment. The 6-foot-3, 301-pound Euless (Texas) Trinity defensive tackle saw one of the true threats to that commitment emerged just hours before his pledge to the Sooners.

That program was Texas who offered him the day before his Dec. 18 announcement with friends and family.

And on Wednesday evening, following his first official visit since his commitment, Daniels announced that he was decommitting from Oklahoma.

"I would like to thank everyone in the OU Fam for being there for me since day 1 but I have come to the decision to DeCommit from OU," Daniels stated.

Daniels is expected to visit Tennessee this weekend and could also take a trip to Texas A&M in the next week.

It's unclear at this time if Oklahoma is still going to be part of his decision process but most expect him to chose between the Longhorns and Aggies with the former thought by many to have a considerable lead.
