Boomer Bomar is a Sooner

In a story that has been the talk of the recruiting world for the last 12 hours, OUFans.com just received official confirmation that Grand Prairie, Texas quarterback Rhett Bomar, has indeed committed to the University of Oklahoma.
"We felt confident all along, but it's nice to have him in the fold," one source said. "I've got my toys now, I'm going shopping to get my kids a new toy, too."

Bomar, the nation's No. 6 rated player, and top ranked signal caller, was the Sooner only option at quarterback, and chose Oklahoma over his other two finalists of Texas and Florida State.
OUFans.com will have a full and in-depth report as soon as the Bomar's are available for comment, along with a report from Jeremy Crabtree on the significance of a top flight quarterback committing early in the recruiting process.
Bomar was recruited by ace Sooner assistant coach Brent Venables.
