Draper Makes His Bedlam Flip Official

Before the season Oklahoma's long-standing dominance of in-state recruiting had fallen into question. Oklahoma had just lost out on long-time guard prospect, Oklahoma fan, and one-time Sooner commitment Josh Wariboko, Brey Walker seemed to be increasingly enamored with out of state programs, and the state's top junior in many people's eyes, Levi Draper had just committed to Oklahoma State.
Fast forward four months and Walker is the earliest Oklahoma commitment perhaps ever and Draper has not only decommitted from the Cowboys but has now, just moments ago, announced his pledge to Oklahoma.

The nation's No. 11 inside linebacker in the class of 2017, and No. 172 player overall, committed to Oklahoma State on July 20 just over a month after picking up his Oklahoma offer.
There was some talk that the choice was, in no small part, due to a somewhat lackluster early reception from the Sooner coaching staff to Draper and a somewhat later offer than many of their recruiting peers.
The opinion came to a head when Draper didn't attend the Sooners early June 'elite' camp.
"It wasn't as much of a 'people looked at it like I was entitled or prove a point.' I told coach (Mike) Stoops the same thing," Draper said on June 23. "For a long time, I told coach (Gary) Hyman at Kansas that I was going to be there - it was kind of a commitment deal.
"I wasn't just going to hang him out to dry, it was one of those deals, I had told him I had been there.
"I had already talked to coach Stoops (about the situation) - when he offered me last week. I told him that, it was definitely no big deal."
In the same conversation he discussed his lack of information on just where he fits into the Sooners defensive plans.
"(Oklahoma) really hasn't talked to me about (where I'd fit into the defense), that's something I'm looking forward to. I haven't even got a chance to talk about that kind of stuff," Draper admitted.
More coming from Draper soon.
