Ford: Cant Hardly Wait for Sooners

Cody Ford hasn't exactly been trying to make a secret of his feelings in regard to Oklahoma. The four-star Pineville, La. offensive guard has talked the Sooners up since he was offered in the early summer. What the 6-foot-4, 322-pound prospect, who had been committed to TCU for several months, was trying to keep to himself was his decision to change his plans from Fort Worth to Norman.
Earlier this week he changed all of his Twitter information from purple to crimson and cream. At that point, he knew the game was up and went ahead and announced his pledge to the Sooners early Monday afternoon.

"I've been trying to hide it until I came up there (for a visit) and talked to coach (Bob) Stoops but I couldn't wait," Ford chuckled. "I tried to wait but it was just getting too suspicious to people so I had to release it."
The nation's No. 18 guard prospect has built a strong relationship with Sooners second-year offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh.
"I called coach B," he said. "He was very excited."
The trip that Ford mentioned has not yet been finalized in regard to a visit date but regardless of when the trip happens he has already seen Norman and knows what it is that he likes about the Sooners.
"It's Oklahoma, they win championships and I like the coaches there," he said.
As importantly as anyone, his family and friends are in his corner about his decision to switch his Big 12 destination and he says that with all that in mind he has now doubt about his future.
"Everyone, they love the decision," he said. "I'm done (with recruiting)."
