Four-star offensive lineman picks OU

The journey to college for Denver Mullen four-star offensive center Jesse White appears to have taken quite a different turn than he originally thought. White, who committed originally to UCLA but later backed out of that in mid September, came full circle when he committed to Oklahoma on an unofficial visit this weekend.
White, the nation’s No. 2 center, a four-star prospect and the No. 2 player in Colorado, picked the Sooners over offers from UCLA, Colorado and interest from Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oregon and Washington.

White told local reporters in Denver that he pledged to the Sooners for a number of reasons but the biggest being the family feeling he got while he was in Norman this weekend.
“I have a lot of family down in Oklahoma, and I knew that everybody would be great to me when I was there,” White said. “Coach Stoops, Coach Wilson and all of the players made me feel really welcome, and that’s one of the biggest things I liked about Oklahoma. Everybody in the family is really excited about the decision.”
So what type of player is OU getting?
“I’m an aggressive blocker,” he said. “I’m not afraid to get down in the trenches and fight and claw to open holes for our running backs.”
White's father is Leon White, the former L.A Ram and current professional wrestler under the name Vader. White is 6-foot-2 and 295 pounds.
He has a bench press of 465 pounds, can do 42 repetitions of 185 pounds, and is already fully qualified with a 3.1 grade-point average and 1100 on the SAT.
SoonerScoop.com will have more on White's commtiment and a more in-depth look at him from his coach Dave Logan on Tuesday.
