Green Could Compete Early

LANCASTER, Texas - Houston Heights Rivals250 cornerback Jalen Green is, without question, one of the more quiet elite prospects in the state of Texas for the class of 2018. The 6-foot-2, 165-pound cornerback took home the defensive back MVP award, as well as an invite to the Five-Star Challenge, but before hand talked about a trip to Norman this spring as well as a few other recent trips.

Those trips included stops at both TCU and Texas but the Sooners have a pair of recruiters that have made an impression on Green.

"It was pretty good, Coach (Kerry) Cooks showed me some film, some drills that I can work on," Green said. "With Oklahoma I have a pretty good relationship with coach Cooks and coach Marcus (Walker).

"They say I can come in and compete early."

The talented defensive back starred during the camp and did so after spending his previous day checking out TCU.

"Matter of fact I went to TCU yesterday, Texas last week, and I've also been to Oklahoma State and Oklahoma," he said. "TCU went pretty good, I talked to the coaches and liked everything they were saying.

"(Texas), ain’t nothing changed, they still hit me up (like they did at Houston).

"Oklahoma State went pretty good."

Green doesn't currently have any plans for the spring and isn't in any hurry to make a decision but he seems likely to visit Norman again this fall.

"I’m going to try and catch a game this season at Oklahoma," he said. "I’m going to take my official visits.

"I’m just taking my time with the process."
