Jackson Plans to Return Sooner Interest Soon

Over the past few years Oklahoma has become an ever-growing presence in the Southeast and are continuing that trend in the class of 2016. The most recent furthering of that presence came late last week Oklahoma became the latest offer for Baton Rouge (La.) University Lab three-star cornerback Tre Jackson.
However, unlike many of Oklahoma's offers of the class of 2016 Jackson's offer was far from his first contact with the Sooners.

"They've been talking to me for awhile, coach Kerry Cooks I've talked to mainly him," Jackson said. "He hasn't come to see me yet, but I think he told me he would be down sometime soon.
"He is a real good coach. You can tell by his (team's) stats, the corners that have played for him, people getting drafted.
"Oklahoma is definitely a big one, it's a great program, it's a great traditional school, it's a real big offer for me."
Though he isn't yet sure about Cooks' travel plans to Baton Rouge, he is sure he'll be making the return leg to Norman at some point this summer.
"I'm very interested in them, I'm going to be making a trip up there this summer, and maybe looking at an official visit as well," he said, admitting Oklahoma was the only school he was confident of taking an official visit to. "Not really anyone yet, Oklahoma is pretty much up there, of the schools I'm looking at."
So what have Cooks and the 5-foot-10, 178-pound Jackson discussed in their conversations prior to his offer.
"First off he has told me a lot about the new facilities; they are supposed to be the best in the country. He talked about their defensive style, where I would fit into things playing corner," he said. "We also talked about the campus lifestyle and how they play at Oklahoma."
Both with his summer travel plans and his ultimate decision date Jackson has a clear idea of what he would like to do.
"I'll be doing a lot of travel this summer. My recruiting is pretty wide open. With Oklahoma I'll see what they want me to do and what fits my schedule to go up there," he said. "Right now I'm also looking at traveling to Texas Tech, they have been on me hard. Auburn probably, probably camp at LSU, maybe hit Tennessee and maybe Texas.
"I've had that I'll probably narrow my list down in probably October or November. I'll decide on my birthday - January 6."
