Jefferson Doesnt have Top List but Sooners Make it

Without question the position that has drawn the most attention from Oklahoma recruiting fans over the past few seasons has been at linebacker and though things may not have gone quite to plan there is hope that the 2016 class can land several top targets to turn that trend around.
One early offer, Pernell Jefferson of New Orleans Warren Easton Senior, is the teammate of current Sooner freshman linebacker Arthur McGinnis and has real interest in possibly joining his friend in Norman.

"It would be a huge opportunity to go play for the Oklahoma Sooners due to the past things they have accomplished. As a linebacker, the position of a linebacker as a whole really shows me how being a Sooner can help. (Butkus winners), numerous guys in the NFL that all played LB for OU," Jefferson said.
Jefferson admits that as a young football player he spent most of his time watching the NFL and as such isn't overly familiar with the Sooner linebackers who currently make their living in the NFL. And with that in mind he admits he has learned much of it from current Sooner inside linebackers coach Tim Kish but also is well aware of the reputation of head coach Bob Stoops.
"Coach Stoops, he's a really good character. He is a very good leader. He is a real role model and makes it easy to give your all for," he explained. "Coach Kish, he is a laid back coach. He likes to have his linebackers to be young men. He likes to help the community. He wants to win!"
The Sooners were willing to wait with McGinnis and seem willing to take time with Jefferson as well. And that patience looks likely to pay off as Jefferson has the Sooners near the top of the list.
Well, that is if Jefferson had a top list. And though he isn't ready to make a list there is one school that usually dominates the thoughts of Louisiana high school products that Jefferson says he is unconcerned about.
"If I was to have a top three or top five, OU would be in there. I am very high on Oklahoma, regardless of who else offers," he admitted. "It doesn't matter to me whether (LSU) offers or not."
