Much has been made of Oklahoma's two offers to Longview, Texas standouts Zaycoven Henderson and Dorian Leonard but one player who truly shines on film but as of yet has not picked up his first offer is fellow Lobo, safety Stephan Maxey.
Maxey joined his teammates, and good friends, in Norman on Feb. 2 for Oklahoma's junior day and came away with a strong impression.
"It was good, I liked it there. It was a pretty good school," Maxey said. "I really enjoyed it."
Though Maxey's contact to date had been through the Sooners area recruiter, and co-offensive coordinator, Jay Norvell his chance to spend some time with defensive coordinator and secondary coach Mike Stoops was a key piece of his first visit to Norman.
"I was with the defensive backs, they were saying that they like what they see from my highlight film and things like that," he said. "It's pretty comfortable there, and I just liked the town."
The 6-foot, 185-pound prospect isn't one to guys about anything but it's clear that he has a lot of interest in the Sooners and is already working on plans to return to Norman.
"I really liked the trip, it was good," he said. "I'm trying to get back to Oklahoma."
