Kendall is on Board with the Sooners

When he made his commitment to Oklahoma in April Waxhaw (N.C.) Cuthbertson quarterback Austin Kendall vowed to make himself a shining part of the Sooners 2016 class. On Tuesday night the Rivals250 quarterback announced that he was signing his financial aid agreement with the Sooners and thus made himself the first 'official' member of the class.

For those unfamiliar the signing of the financial aid agreement gives Oklahoma the ability to contact the nation's No. 4 pro-style quarterback at their pleasure as he is, for all intents and purposes, a Sooner signee. On the flip side Kendall is not bound to Oklahoma and should they say anything publicly could find themselves in trouble with the NCAA if they publicly comment about a player who does not sign with them.
However that scenario seems incredibly unlikely to play out as Kendall has been solid to the Sooners since his commitment and has, from the same point, taken his role as a leading recruiter of the class seriously.
The nation's No. 161 player overall has put together a solid senior season in spite of suffering an injury roughly a month ago going 121-for-197 (61.4-percent) for 1,693-yards, 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions. This follows a staggeringly strong junior season that saw him throw for 4,461 yards and 49 touchdowns on 310-for-513 passing.
