Who is State's No. 1? (FREE)

Podcast: BBQ and Expansion

Inside the Sooners Offer List

Recently Missouri City (Texas) Elkins three-star linebacker Kenneth Murray announced that he was down to a final six of Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Houston, Michigan, and Nebraska. Since that time he took an unofficial visit to Norman, Okla. last weekend for the Sooners first annual barbecue event and came away impressed.

Whether it was that trip or not, Murray came away from Norman after having cut his list down to three.

"Texas, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M, those are the schools I will be picking from - we're working on getting a press conference together," Murray said.

So with Murray saying he is '95-percent sure' he knows what he wants to do, any chance of separating one school from another? Not when you ask Murray his thoughts on each.

Texas:"Great program, great coach."

Oklahoma:"Great program, great coach."

Texas A&M "Great program, great coach. "

Though he isn't ready to tip his hand his first, and only, trip to Norman was a near perfect trip.

"Man, OU was amazing. The campus was very nice I enjoyed it a lot I also really really love that stadium, it's amazing," he explained. "The kindness they showed my mom at the facility (it was) amazing).

"My mom has a hip problem and after walking awhile, she has to slow it down. And one of the things that stood out to me was the coaches went out of their way to make sure she was ok and make sure she didn't have to walk (anymore) and got her a cart to get around so that meant a lot to me."

Murray, who is planning a press conference for next week to announce his decision between the trio liked that the Sooners see him as a an outside linebacker as it has where he has put his time into this summer.

"Well I been working really hard at outside linebacker trying to perfect my craft and stuff like that and OU does a lot of the same stuff I'm doing right now at outside linebacker. It fits me well and it's what I love to do the coaches feel I can be the next (Eric) Striker and with me coming in early they think me and Caleb Kelly could be two dominant outside backers which is what I like," he said.

Kish has been a big part of Murray's recruitment. (USA TODAY SPORTS)
