MVP in Defeat

As teams are seeing their season ending and the state of Texas heading into their playoff run there is a lot of chaos on Oklahoma's commitment list at the moment. What's even more amazing to analyze is how Oklahoma's pair of commitments at quarterback put up absolutely unbelievable numbers as one saw his season come to a close.

The Skinny: Asamoah and DeSales ended their season at 6-4.

The Skinny: Austin and Lancaster suffered another in a lengthy line of tough defeats as they fell to Midlothian 36-35 on a score in the last minute.

Next Week: Lancaster ended their season at 4-6.

The Skinny: Baldwin had his season ended in the season opener with a knee injury but watched as his team made the playoffs in a 51-27 win over Cy-Creek.

Next Week: Cy-Falls (5-4) is meeting Lamar in the first round of the Texas 6A division one playoffs at Delmar stadium in Houston.

The Skinny: Bridges did a bit of everything for Hebron in their 36-31 win over Southlake Carroll on Friday night. He not only had seven catches for 53-yards but also had a 70-yard punt return for touchdown.

Next Week: Hebron (8-2) is traveling to Allen in the first round of the Texas 6A division one playoffs.

The Skinny: Boswell came into the game undefeated but few could say they expected Aledo to be trailing 16-14 at halftime. In what was a great game according to all on hand Carter and the Bearcats came back to seal a 35-26 win over Saginaw Boswell.

Next Week: Aledo (10-0) is meeting Wichita Falls Rider in the first round of the Texas 5A division two playoffs on Thu., Nov. 16 at Saginaw high school.

The Skinny: Crawford and Rockdale ended the regular season with a bang, downing Jarrell 77-0. On what was a short night of work Crawford had one carry for 31-yards and two receptions for 40-yards - both catches went for touchdowns (34, 6).

Next Week: Rockdale (7-3) is meeting Malakoff in the first round of the Texas 3A division one playoffs at Crockett high school.

The Skinny: Deerfield Beach was upset on Friday night falling to Western, 20-17. The Bucks defense, including Edwards, did their part but the offense gave away four fumbles.

Next Week: Deerfield Beach (8-3) ended their season in the first round of the Florida 8A playoffs.

The Skinny: Union just keeps rolling with a 28-3 win over Edmond Santa Fe in the playoff opener. Fields had a forced fumble and recovery to help the Redskins.

Next Week: Union (11-0) is meeting Broken Arrow in the semifinals of the 6A-1 playoffs on Sat. Nov. 18 at Tulsa University's Chapman stadium.

The Skinny: Johnson had a big night for Brenham with seven carries for 197-yards, including an 89-yard touchdown run along with two receptions for 10-yards. But it wasn't enough as Brenham fell to Magnolia 35-28.

Next Week: Brenham (6-3) is meeting Hutto in the first round of the Texas 5A division two playoffs at Bryan's Merrill Green stadium.

The Skinny: Union, shut down Edmond Santa Fe in their 6A-1 playoff opener and Kelley was a big part of a defense that allowed just one scoring drive in their 28-3 win over the Timberwolves.

Next Week: Union (11-0) is meeting Broken Arrow in the semifinals of the 6A-1 playoffs on Sat. Nov. 18 at Tulsa University's Chapman stadium.

The Skinny: A, somewhat, surprisingly great game couldn't stop Aledo from a 35-26 win, their 75th straight district win. McClellan, as undoubtedly the focus of the Boswell defense, had a tough night with just 81-yards on 23 carries.

Next Week: Aledo (10-0) is meeting Wichita Falls Rider in the first round of the Texas 5A division two playoffs on Thu., Nov. 16 at Saginaw high school.

The Skinny: Moore, who is out for the season with injury, saw Independence win their first Jayhawk conference title in more than 25 years.

Next Week: Independence C.C. at 8-1 won the Jayhawk conference championship.

The Skinny: In what has been an otherwise great season Mordecai may have saved his best for the last of regular season. In a 63-28 win over Killeen Ellison he went 25-39 for 407-yards and five touchdowns (26, 70, 25, 24, 25) and that wasn't all, Mordecai had five carries for 157-yards and two more touchdowns (53, 52).

Next Week: Midway (10-0) is hosting Grand Prairie in the first round of the Texas 6A-2 playoffs.

The Skinny: Perkins and Lutheran North didn't have nearly the same kind of battle this week, crushing Caruthersville 64-7. In the win, Perkins for the second straight week had a touchdown catch, a 39-yard grab.

Next Week: North (13-0) meets hosts Lamar in the semifinals of the Missouri Class Two State Playoffs on Sat. Nov. 18.

The Skinny: IMG, without an injured Pledger, downed Virginia Beach (Va.) Bishop Sullivan Catholic 48-0. The Ascenders have a claim to the national title but obviously it won't be known until everyone else's seasons are completed.

Next Week: IMG ended their season at 8-0 and potentially national champions.

The Skinny: In a game that Oklahoma fans are familiar with Rattler did all he could but the Pioneers were outscored 77-52 against rival Chandler. Rattler had another huge night going 40-67 for 580-yards and five touchdowns (16, 24, 9, 40, 11) along with a short rushing touchdown.

Week 11 MVP

Next Week: Pinnacle (9-4) ended their season in the second round of the Arizona 6A State Playoffs.

The Skinny: Midwest City got some revenge for a first round loss to Sand Spring last year, and did so in emphatic fashion with a 47-12 win. Personally Redmond had a forced fumble on a sack, two tackles for loss, and a quarterback hurry that resulted in an interception.

Next Week: Midwest City (10-1) is meeting Bixby in the semifinals of the Oklahoma 6A-2 playoffs, Sat. Nov. 18 at UCO's Wantland stadium.

The Skinny: All Saints downed San Antonio Central Catholic 42-7 helped in no small part by Robinson's five receptions for 82-yards and two touchdowns (25, 25).

Next Week: All Saints (9-0) is traveling to Ft. Worth Nolan Catholic in the first round of the TAPPS division one playoffs on Sat., Nov. 18.

The Skinny: Simpson and Northwest crushed Azle, 49-7 with Simpson helping an offense that put up over 500-yards of offense.

Next Week: Northwest ended their season at 6-4.

The Skinny: Stogner and Prestonwood kept their roll going downing Trinity Christian-Addison 35-7. On the night the junior tight end had two receptions for 15-yards.

Next Week: Prestonwood (8-2) is hosting Houston St. Thomas in the first round of the TAPPS division one playoffs.

The Skinny: The Pirates and Tatum got up early against powerhouse Booker T. Washington but couldn't hold on as the state's No. 1 went off with a 56-21 win.

Next Week: Putnam City (7-4) ended their season in the first round of the Oklahoma 6A-2 playoffs.

The Skinny: Ridgeway (5-6) ended their season in the first round of the Tennessee 5A Division 1 playoffs.

Next Week: N/A.

The Skinny: Thomas and Dunbar, going against undefeated Trotwood-Madison, came up short 64-26 but Thomas tried to do his part with 24 carries for 90-yards and an eight-yard touchdown run.

Next Week: Dunbar (8-4) ended their season in the second round of the Ohio Division three playoffs.

The Skinny: Needing a win to get into the playoffs Turner-Yell and Hempstead answered the bell with a 34-14 win over Hardin. Turner-Yell had four tackles, a tackle for loss, three touchdown runs (1, 37, 15), a quarterback hurry, a pass break-up

Next Week: Hempstead (4-5) is meeting Woodville in the first round of the Texas 3A division one playoffs at Madisonville.

The Skinny: Westmoore couldn't get on track offensively against arguably the state's stingiest defense, Owasso, falling 37-16.
