Punching Into the Playoffs

Oklahoma's commitment list got a little bigger over the weekend with the addition of Ronnie Perkins to Oklahoma's 2018 class. However, it's a player who beat Perkins to the punch by over four months that took home this week's top honors.

The Skinny: Asamoah and DeSales won their game but weren't able to make the playoffs in spite of a 41-7 win over Watterson.

Next Week: DeSales season ended at 6-4.

The Skinny: Austin and Lancaster, got back on the winning track downing Red Oak 42-21. The Tigers held Red Oak to 4-for-11 passing for just 84-yards.

Next Week: Lancaster (4-4) is traveling to Waxahachie.

The Skinny: Baldwin had his season ended in the season opener with a knee injury and after a nice run of games, Falls fell to Jersey Village 24-23.

Next Week: Cy-Falls (4-2) is hosting Cy-Fair on Sat., Nov. 4.

The Skinny: Bridges had a relatively quiet night with five receptions for 35-yards but Hebron came up just short of Euless Trinity, 31-28.

Next Week: Hebron (6-2) is traveling to Lewisville.

The Skinny: Carter had a 23-yard touchdown catch and was largely avoided on defense - where the Aledo secondary allowed 104-yards passing in the Bearcats 59-7 demolition of White Settlement Brewer.

Next Week: Aledo (7-0) is hosting Justin Northwest.

The Skinny: Crawford is truly finding his way for Rockdale, this time putting up 207-yards of offense in Rockdale's 49-29 win over McGregor. He had six carries for 92-yards and three touchdowns, including a 51-yard score, along with three receptions for 115-yards, including a 75-yard touchdown.

Next Week: Rockdale (6-2) is traveling to Franklin.

The Skinny: Deerfield Beach's defense continues to look like one of not only Florida's, but the country's, best downing piper 43-0.

The Skinny: Union, with Fields's help, sealed up yet another district title in their 41-3 win over Putnam City North.

Next Week: Union (9-0) is hosting Mustang.

The Skinny: Johnson had a quiet night through the air but did have four carries for 105-yards, including a long of 61-yards in Brenham's 40-8 win over Willis.

The Skinny: Union, with Kelly's help, sealed up yet another district title in their 41-3 win over Putnam City North.

The Skinny: McClellan got back on the field after missing every game since week one. He just dipped a toe with four carries for 40-yards and three touchdowns (22, 12, 5) in Aledo's 59-7 win over White Settlement Brewer.

Next Week: Aledo (7-0) is hosting Justin Northwest.

The Skinny: Moore, who is out for the season with injury, looked on as Independence downed Hutchinson 24-0.

Next Week: Independence C.C. (7-1) is traveling to Butler C.C. on Sat., Nov. 4.

The Skinny: Perkins and Lutheran North had a big night in a 55-0 win over Carnahan in the second round of the Missouri Class Two State Playoffs. Perkins himself had a 57-yard touchdown catch and a two-point conversion run.

Next Week: North (10-0) meets Trinity Catholic in the third round of the Missouri Class Two State Playoffs.

The Skinny: IMG and Pledger had the week off.

Next Week: IMG (6-0) is traveling to Hoover, Ala.

The Skinny: Few of Oklahoma's commitments have been on a bigger role in the second half of the season than Rattler. He capped his regular season, with a section title, and a 19-26 for 369-yards and four touchdowns in Pinnacle's 59-7 demolition of fellow state-ranked Horizon.

Next Week: Pinnacle (8-3) is hosting Cesar Chavez in the first round of the Arizona 6A State Playoffs.

The Skinny: Redmond didn't play in Midwest City's 46-25 win over Enid, after tweaking his hamstring against Putnam City the week before.

Next Week: Midwest City (8-1) is hosting Stillwater.

The Skinny: Robinson and All Saints had the week off.

Next Week: All Saints (7-0) is hosting Brownsville St. Joseph on Sat., Nov. 4.

The Skinny: Simpson helped lead a Northwest offense that piled up 477-yards rushing with three rushers going over 100-yards in a 55-14 smacking of Saginaw Chisholm Trail.

Next Week: Northwest (5-3) is traveling to Aledo.

The Skinny: In a 22-6 win over Bishop Dunne, Stogner had three catches for 31-yards and a 9-yard touchdown. He also helped with Prestonwood's nearly 200-yards rushing.

Next Week: Prestonwood (6-2) is hosting John Paul II.

The Skinny: The Pirates have hit the first real hiccups in their season with back to back losses, this time falling in a tight one to Stillwater, 39-32. Tatum had seven tackles (six solo) on the night.

Next Week: Putnam City (6-3) is traveling to Enid.

The Skinny: Taylor was part of a strange game in a 2-0 loss to Southwind.

Next Week: Ridgeway (5-5) is traveling to Paris Henry County in the first round of the 5A Division 1 playoffs.

The Skinny: Thomas, with 301-yards rushing and seven touchdowns against arch rival Thurgood Marshall, led Dunbar to a 46-0 win as well as Dunbar's first playoff berth since 2010.

Next Week: Dunbar (7-3) is meeting Goshen in the first round of the Ohio Division three playoffs.

The Skinny: In a 28-22 win over Anahuac, Turner-Yell helped Hempstead with two carries for 37-yard and a one-yard TD. Defensively he had seven tackles (five solo) and 1.5 tackles for loss.

Next Week: Hempstead (3-4) is traveling to La Marque.

The Skinny: Westmoore fought tooth and nail with powerhouse Jenks for a while, but in the second half the Trojans were just too much with a 38-22 win. Walker helped lead the way for nearly 200-yards rushing.

Next Week: Westmoore (7-2) is traveling to Yukon.
