Winning national championships can do wonders for your pocketbook.

At least, that's proving to be true for Sooner softball coach Patty Gasso, associate head coach Melyssa Lombardi and assistant coach Tripp Mackay.

Less than a month after claiming the program's second national title and the first school national title since 2008, the University of Oklahoma Board of Regents increased Gasso's salary to $350,000 annually.

Prior to OU's win against Tennessee in the Women's College World Series, Gasso was making $215,000 per year.

Should Gasso win another national championship, she will earn a $65,000 bonus -- or $50,000 more than the $15,000 she earned as an incentive for winning the 2013 NCAA title.
She could earn $600,000 by the end of her contract in 2018.
Lombardi received a $33,960 raise tacked onto her current salary of $86,040. She'll make $120,000 annually.
Mackay received a $35,360 raise that will take his salary from $64,640 annually to $100,000 annually.
Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops, OU men's basketball coach Lon Kruger and OU women's basketball coach Sherri Coale were not among those considered for raises.
Oklahoma's football assistants were awarded raises last March as the OU board of regents met to approve salaries for newly hired coaches in Bill Bedenbaugh, Jerry Montgomery and Jay Boulware.
Raises for key members of OU's strength and conditioning staff were doled out to 15-year strength and conditioning coach Jerry Schmidt. Schmidt was given a $13,000 raise which puts him at $270,000 annually.
Strength and conditioning coach Scott Kolok received a $5,000 raise. He'll earn $95,000 annually.
Although Lon Kruger did not receive a pay raise, members of his Oklahoma basketball staff did.
Assistant men's basketball coaches Chris Crutchfield, Steve Henson and Lew Hill received raises that will see them earn $212,250 this year. That's an increase of $10,000 annually.
Men's basketball director of operations Mike Shepard received a $10,000 raise to put him at $135,000 per year.
OU men's basketball strength and conditioning coach Jozsef Szendrei earned a $20,000 raise. He'll make $110,000 this year.
Assistant women's basketball coaches Pam DeCosta was awarded a $15,000 raise while Jan Ross and Chad Thrailkill received $10,000 raises.
Ross will make $196,400 per year. Thrailkill will make $143,600, and DeCosta will make $133,000 this year.
