Rising Star is a Sooner

You knew it was just a matter of time before Oklahoma offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh started to make his imprint for the 2020 class.

A week removed from having four offensive linemen drafted in the initial four rounds of the NFL Draft, it was the perfect time to strike.

Apparently, Frisco (Texas) Reedy offensive tackle Nate Anderson agreed. Anderson announced his commitment to the Sooners on Monday evening.

Anderson, a high three-star prospect, made an unofficial visit to Norman last weekend and was offered right on the spot by the OU coaches.

The Sooners staff, especially Bedenbaugh, have been working tirelessly on the recruiting trail in trying to land more elite prospects for the 2020 offensive line class. The last few weeks have felt like a countdown to when it could all go down.

That clock finally struck zero Monday evening.

Anderson becomes the commitment No. 7 for OU’s class and the first offensive lineman as Bedenbaugh continues to find top-tier prospects.

OU had three official visitors last weekend on the offensive line to go with Anderson. The Sooners have been pretty patient, almost patient to a fault for the 2020 class, and now it feels like the Sooners could be ready to make their move.

Former OU stars Cody Ford (2nd round), Bobby Evans (3rd), Dru Samia (4th) and Ben Powers (4th) were all chosen in the NFL Draft. Now Bedenbaugh looks to find more to join that list, hoping Anderson can be among that group.
