Ronnell Lewis, The Hammer is eligible

Ronnell Lewis has been declared eligible for Saturday's game against Tulsa. The preseason All-Big 12 defensive end had been in eligibility limbo throughout the preseason.
But Lewis has now been cleared to play for the 2011 season. Bob Stoops, who has spent much of the preseason answering question after question on Lewis, was finally able to release the statement Sooner fans have been waiting to hear.

"We are very happy for Ronnell. This has been a difficult process and I know he's relieved today," said Stoops. "Now he can fully concentrate on this season and school year."
The news will help bolster a defense which has already lost starting weakside linebacker Travis Lewis to a broken foot during the preseason.
Lewis had been continuing to practice with the team while Bob Stoops awaited word on his status.
