Scoop Staff Checking Huge Games on Both Sides of Red River

After a few weeks of various Sooner targets being on display in either the opening weeks of their seasons' or simply going through the final moments of spring practice we can now say it's officially high school football season. That's because not only is Texas underway but now Oklahoma high school preps are hitting the field for their first live action and we'll have you covered all around the region.

Names To Know: Worren Davis, Michael Farmer, Roscoe Gatewood, Justice Hansen, J.R. Hensley, Ashton Preston, Will Sunderland
Obviously the two headliners here are Oklahoma commitment Hansen and potential weekend offer Sunderland. Hansen's season will start in earnest tonight with the exact same game that started his season in 2012. Hansen started slow last year and then went absolutely ballistic in the second half. This Midwest City squad looks to be improved with Sunderland, Gatewood, and an emerging talent like Davis. It's no surprise that two of the city's best programs over the last decade there will be plenty of talent on display. Also interesting to note could Farmer show himself to be healthy and ready to return and begin to push himself into Oklahoma's race for a fullback offer?
Names To Know: Connor McGinnis, Josh Wariboko
Again the headliner is easy to find with this one as Wariboko is emerging as one of, not only the state's, but the nation's elite young offensive linemen thanks to an impressive camp series through the year. It'll be interesting to see how Wariboko who will be facing one of the few teams that have the size to challenge him somewhat fares on Thursday night as Hall has a young two-way lineman they are quite excited about. Another young Charger that has people talking is McGinnis who showed real flashes as a sophomore, is he ready to emerge as another great signal caller from the Sooner state? We'll find out more on Thursday.
Names To Know: Bobby Evans, Tay Evans, Marcus Green, Greg Little, Damarkus Lodge, Darrell Miller
Perhaps the only game all season in which Oklahoma will have three commitments on the same field and at least one more offer also under the bright lights will be featured in perhaps the game of the week in the state of Texas. We'll get a chance to see Bobby Evans work at left tackle as he begins to prepare for his collegiate position. Meanwhile it'll be the chance to get a better feel for where on the field his older brother Tay will find himself in Norman next season. Finally the secondary duo of Green and Miller will be very notable to watch as they could be teaming together again in Norman in the not too distant future. Finally, Lodge, one of the nation's elite 2015 receivers looks to continue to build on his budding recruiting stardom.
Names To Know: Myles Garrett, Justin Hollins, Carlos Strickland, Jess Trussell, Anthony Wheeler
Two programs that have produced loads of division one talent in the past decade will collide on Friday night in Arlington. The three defenders are definitely the ones that most people will be watching most notably for Sooner fans is Hollins who many feel is leaning to the Sooners - how will he fare against a much higher level of competition? Offensively Strickland and Truell are big and long receiving targets - can they start to establish themselves as high level FBS guys?
