Signal Caller Calls His Own Number

Oklahoma's Future Sooners had a bit of a quiet week with a lot of players having the week off, particularly those from the Dallas metroplex. However, several Sooners had big weeks, including an in-state offensive tackle and a pair of in-state edge rushers. However the top award goes to the most likely candidate - Oklahoma's senior quarterback commitment.

The Skinny: DeSales had a tough night falling 35-7 to Covington Catholic of Kentucky with the DeSales defense struggling against the run - to the tune of 276-yards surrendered.

Next Week: DeSales (3-2) is traveling to Covington Catholic.

The Skinny: Austin and Lancaster started the gauntlet of, arguably, Texas' deepest district falling just short against Mansfield Lake Ridge 24-20. Austin and the secondary held Lake Ridge to just 152-yards passing.

The Skinny: Baldwin was injured in the season opener and lost for the season. In his absence Falls fell 38-12 to Langham Creek

The Skinny: Against a hometown rival Mordecai put together a strong performance going 18-for-30 for 264-yards and five touchdowns along with one rushing touchdown in their 42-7 demolition of Waco.

Next Week: Midway (4-0) is traveling to Copperas Cove

The Skinny: After a few weeks off, due to Hurricane Irma, IMG got back on track while taking on fellow national powerhouse Miami Central. Pledger's stats weren't listed but IMG claimed a big 24-15 win over Central.

Next Week: IMG (3-0) is traveling to Jupiter Christian.

The Skinny: Rattler in one of Arizona's biggest games, facing the state's No. 1, did his part with four (18, 66, 9, 16) touchdowns passes but Pinnacle was just over run by Mountain Pointe 58-34.

Next Week: Pinnacle (3-3) is hosting Scottsdale Desert Mountain.

The Skinny: Week after week Redmond keeps putting up monstrous numbers and this week was no different with three sacks in a crucial 41-35 win over fellow 6A-2 power Lawton.

Next Week: Midwest City (3-1) is hosting Deer Creek.

The Skinny: Robinson and All Saints had a huge matchup with fellow TAPPS top-ranked program, Midland Christian but the Saints marched in and back out with a 35-21 win. Robinson, wearing the wrong number, had eight catches for 127-yards and an 18-yard touchdown.

The Skinny: Northwest and Simpson had the week off.

Next Week: Northwest (3-0) is traveling to Northwest Easton on Thu., Sept. 28.

The Skinny: Prestonwood and Stogner had the week off.

The Skinny: Putnam City just keeps giving reasons to be impressed, this time downing Choctaw 38-10. Tatum had a big night, nine tackles, two tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and later recovering a fumble and returning it 8-yards for his first ever touchdown.

The Skinny: Taylor's Ridgeway team got their second straight win downing Munsford 38-32. Taylor, after nearly a month away with a hamstring injury finally got back on the field. He had a touchdown in his return.

Next Week: Ridgeway (2-4) is hosting Overton.

The Skinny: Dunbar just keeps winning this time downing Cincinnati Aiken 48-6. Thomas had a big night, including three touchdowns and more than 300-yards rushing.

Next Week: Dunbar (4-1) is traveling to Novi (Mich.) Catholic Central on Sat., Sept. 30.

The Skinny: It was a tough week for Hempstead falling to Cleveland 55-27.

Next Week: Hempstead (1-2) is hosting Luling.

The Skinny: Walker and the Jaguars knocked off three-time defending 6A-II state champion Bixby, 34-22. Walker and his offensive line had a huge impact after approaching head coach Lorenzo Williams at half-time about establishing the run. After that conversation Westmoore ran for 184-yards in the second half, part of over 300-yards rushing in the game.
