Sooners have final home game before Maui

Jeff Capel's Sooners take on Texas Southern tonight at 7pm inside Lloyd Noble Center for their final home game before taking off for Hawaii on Friday for the Maui Invitational. Things haven't come easy for the Sooners as they try and formulate a sense of chemistry on a team full of unknown commodities.
Oklahoma struggled in their exhibition opener against Northern State, trailing for a good portion of the second half before pulling away to a 75-64 victory late. Things improved dramatically in their regular season opener as they led most of the way against Coppin State and cruised to a 77-57 victory.

But against North Carolina Central, Oklahoma shot horrendously from behind the three-point line and needed a Steven Pledger three just before the end of regulation to send the game into overtime, where the Sooners eventually found their rhythm and polished off the victory 71-63.
Senior leader Cade Davis has been sluggish on the scoring charts shooting just 22% from three-point land and just 21% from the field.
Andrew Fitzgerald has been the bright spot for Oklahoma offensively as he is averaging 22 points per game and 53% from the field.
SoonerScoop.com was at practice on Wednesday to speak with several members of the Oklahoma basketball team, including head coach Jeff Capel.
Cade Davis talks about the final home game before heading to Hawaii and his thoughts on playing in the Maui Invitational against Kentucky in the opener.
Steven Pledger talks about the team's struggles shooting the ball from the perimeter and how the team has to keep building when things aren't going their way.
Nick Thompson talks about struggling offensively against NCCU and escaping that game in overtime, as well as how this team must continue to improve.
